What is the medical abortion?
The medical abortion is a way to end pregnancy without using instruments or surgery. It’s done with medicine up to 30 weeks from the first day of the last period.

How does the medical abortion work?
Each process has a unique mechanism of action.
this acts as an antiprogestogen ie a receptor to block the progesterone hormone. The progesterone hormone is necessary for the maintenance of a pregnancy. This also softens and dilates the cervix that causes placental detachment. In addition abortion process increase uterine contractions.
This process is taken orally and blocks the action of progesterone with such results as thinning of uteral lining, pregnancy detachment, cervical dilation and softening, uterine contractions. There are two steps followed during a medical abortion
Step One:

How does a medical abortion feel?
You may experience some or all of the following:
• some cramps
• nausea or vomiting
• diarrhea
Call the doctor if you:
• Soak more than two sanitary pads per hour for 2 consecutive hours
• Bleed heavily for more than 12 hours in a row
• Pass clots larger than a size of a lemon
• Run a temperature over 100.4
• Have severe pain not relieved by pain medication
• Have an allergic reaction to any medication (itching, rash or hives)
• Develop a foul vaginal odor
When will I get my period after a medical abortion?
You should expect your next menstrual cycle four to eight weeks after your miscarriage. If you start birth control pills you will know exactly when your period will begin.
When can I have sex again after a medical abortion?
You should not have vaginal intercourse until you are cleared by the Physician at your follow-up visit. You could get pregnant right away after the miscarriage
